Ceramic fixed braces: braces that blend in

The ceramic brackets are resistant to staining, but the clear elastic that holds the archwire in place could be stained by dark coloured liquids, such as coffee. However, we can easily change the elastics during your adjustment appointments.

It is important to brush your teeth often during orthodontic treatment. We recommend doing so after every meal. You should also floss regularly and use interdental brushes to clean the difficult-to-reach areas and book a visit with your dentist for a cleaning every 6 months.

Hard foods, such as raw carrots and nuts, and sticky foods like chewing gum, should be avoided to prevent damage to your braces. Sugary foods should also be avoided as they can lead to plaque build-up around the brackets, increasing the risk of tooth decay.

Ceramic braces are designed to be discreet and blend in naturally with your teeth. While they’re not completely invisible, they’re much less noticeable than traditional metal braces, so most people won’t spot them unless they’re looking very closely.
